205028 Standish Junction 1 July 1990

Very unusual traction in the Cotswolds! 205028 approaches Standish Junction on 1 July 1990 with the Kingfisher Railtours 1Z40 07:48 Portsmouth Harbour to Gloucester 'Solent Salute' railtour. This was in connection with the Gloucester Rail Day. Although Class 205s apparently occasionally worked up from Bristol to Gloucester via the lines in the foreground, the Swindon to Gloucester line, on which this unit is travelling, was well off their normal territory. This could possibly be the only time one of these units has traversed the 'Golden Valley' route. Confirmation anyone?
