319040 speeds past Ampthill (Millbrook) on 29 May 1988 with the 10:07 Bedford to Sevenoaks service. This was one of Network SouthEast's Thameslink trains, which had been introduced, with much publicity, a couple of week earlier. The well known local landmark of the Stewartby Brickworks chimneys can be seen in the background. The works closed in 2008, and all the chimneys have now been demolished.
