37412 Severn Bridge 30 March 1996

The southbound shot from the Severn Bridge is well known, but the northbound less so, mainly due to the fact that to get the sun on the nose an early morning train is required, also recently the Tesco distribution depot has hardly added to the view. However, it still affords an almost aerial view, and on 30 March 1996 the Pathfinder Tours 1Z37 08:15 Cardiff Central to Newquay 'Cornish Raider' railtour was an ideal candidate for this location, despite the unusually short train being a bit lost in the view. 37412 Driver John Elliot is about to pass under the 1966 built road bridge, which incidentally suffers from an alarming amount of movement from the large lorries that at the time (before the opening of the second Severn Bridge) were passing just behind me in quick succession.
