43093 approaches Pilning on 8 September 2006 with the 1B42 14:15 Paddington to Cardiff Central First Great Western service. The train is on a brief section of level track, between the falling gradient from Patchway Tunnel, and the longer descent into the Severn Tunnel. The steep 1 in 68 section of the bank can be seen above the rear of the train. The removal of Pilning station footbridge and the electrification of this route means that this view is no longer possible. |
