47148 passes Hay Lane, near Swindon, on 16 June 1983 with a westbound engineer's train. Just visible in the misty background on the left is the Anchor butter factory. This was a major Swindon employer, until its closure in 2002. 47148 was withdrawn in July 1987, and after periods in store at Tinsley, March, Wigan Springs Branch and Mossend, it was finally cut up at MC Metals, Springburn in October 1989.
