47543 approaches Barnt Green station on 4 July 1987 with the 1V36 07:00 Milton Keynes to Penzance 'Holidaymaker Express' service. Much has changed since this view was taken. Although the line the train is traveling on hasn't been electrified, the Redditch branch in the foreground has, with the result that the resultant 'knitting' has completely ruined this view. Note the typical consist for this train at the time - Mk3s for the 'normal' coaches and Mk1s for the catering and brake vehicles.
