47559 passes Wolvercote Junction on 27 March 1982 with the 1V18 08:25 Birmingham New Street to Paddington service. This loco was named Sir Joshua Reynolds a month after this picture was taken, and this is the only time I saw it prior to it being named. Unfortunately this location is nothing like as open as this now. The Cotswold Line can be seen curving away into the distance, and although it is mostly being obscured by the mist, Yarnton church can just be seen behind the trees.
