A Network SouthEast and InterCity combination at Uffington on 14 March 1989. 47598 passes the site of the former junction station with a Cheltenham Gold Cup race special. In the 1980s there were always at least three loco hauled trains going to Cheltenham on Golf Cup day. Just visible on the extreme right of the picture is a Bury's Transport milk tanker, a common sight on the roads in the area at the time.
