47625 Ascott-under-Wychwood 6 December 1986

Just after sunrise on 6 December 1986, with frost still on the tracks, 47625 City of Truro passes the footpath crossing just to the west of Ascott-under-Wychwood, as it works the 1A18 07:00 Hereford to Paddington 'Cathedrals Express'. 47625 was easily identifiable from a distance in the mid 1980s, due to the two white discs painted on the front end. Admittedly 47077 & 47157 also had this feature, but being 47/0s it would be extremely unusual for them to be working a passenger train on the Cotswold Line.
