A historic picture of Honeybourne station, featuring some very unusual rolling stock. Class 47s may once have been common here, but Southern Region EMUs certainly were not! 47640 University of Strathclyde arrives with the 5Z94 10:33 Strawberry Hill to Long Marston on 26 March 1996. The train comprises Class 416 2-EPB 6213, Class 414 2-HAP 4308, Class 416 2-EPBs 6308, 6309 & 6402, & Class 414 2-HAP 4311. Since this picture was taken the station has been completely rebuilt, with the foreground platform brought back into use, to serve the redoubled line. Also, trees now hide the caravan site from view, and a housing estate has been built on the waste ground behind the loco.
