In the 1980s there was an excellent uninterrupted view from the footbridge on the site of Ashbury Crossing, near Shrivenham, looking towards Didcot, ideal for photographing westbound trains in the evening. 47656 is pictured on 14 July 1989 with the 1B56 18:23 Paddington to Swansea service. A few weeks after this picture was taken the loco was renumbered to 47811.
