50006 Oxford 2 April 1983

50006 Neptune pulls away from a signal check on the approach to Oxford station on 2 April 1983. It is working the 1M37 09:50 Paddington to Liverpool Lime Street service, which it would work as far as Birmingham New Street. This view is virtually unrecognisable now. Not only are Class 50 hauled passenger trains unfortunately a thing of the past, but this formerly open location has been compromised by rampant tree growth. The Great Western goods shed on the left has also long since gone.
