50008 Thunderer & 50015 Valiant pass Chilson on 19 October 1991 with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z16 07:58 Paddington to Cardiff (via Worcester and Swindon) 'Hoover Hoop' railtour. This used to be one of my favourite locations on the Cotswold Line, and during the 1980s I took many pictures here, including numerous Class 50s. However, regular Class 50 haulage on the route had ended a couple years earlier, and this was my first picture of a double headed railtour at this spot. Already the location is becoming very overgrown, and in recent years this viewpoint has disappeared completely, as Network Rail now no longer carry out any lineside maintenance.
