50008 Stonesfield 8 June 1984

50008 Thunderer races along the single track section of the Cotswold Line to the south of Charlbury, passing near to the village of Stonesfield with the 1A73 07:05 Hereford to Paddington service on 8 June 1984. Obviously fairly fresh from a repaint, the light grey roof is still reasonably clean apart from around the four exhaust ports. The inclusion of a GUV at the head of the train was typical for the period, giving far more storage for bicycles and other bulky items than is available on the equivalent train today!
