50046 Ajax passes Knighton on 25 October 1980 with the 1A93 08:31 Cheltenham Spa to Paddington InterCity service. Apologies for the very poor quality of this picture, but it is one of only two pictures I have of Ajax in unrefurbished condition. This photo is taken from the site of Knighton Crossing, which in those days was easily accessible, with nothing obstructing the view from the truncated remains of the old road, even when standing behind the wire fence.
