Grey loco meets white horse. 60029 Ben Nevis passes Beechingstoke on 29 April 2026 with the 6V17 10:34 Willesden DC Rail Sidings to Merehead Quarry stone empties. The train was travelling quite slowly, having just left the down loop at Woodborough. The Alton Barnes White Horse, which is visible for miles around, was commissioned by local farmer Robert Pile in 1812. It measures 180 feet high by 160 feet long. |
