60057 & 60032 Burbage Common 26 May 1991

60057 Adam Smith & 60032 William Booth pass Burbage Common (between Narborough and Hinckley) with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z36 'Coal Scuttler' railtour on 26 May 1991, run in connection with the Coalville Open Day. The train is pictured here returning from the open day, running a staggering 3 hours late! This was due to a broken rail on the line into the site, which caused massive delays to the numerous railtours converging on the site, one of which didn't even get there! After a very dull day, the sun almost came out here, highlighting the locos against a dark sky. Unfortunately in order to cope with the previously poor lighting I had Kodachrome 200 in the camera, so the picture is a little grainier than I would like.
