6024 Dandry Mire Viaduct 28 March 1998

A familiar Settle & Carlisle scene, with the rural roads choked with cars, as their occupants photograph a steam special! King Class 4-6-0 6024 King Edward I crosses Dandry Mire Viaduct, as it pulls away from its water stop at Garsdale station (just visible in the background on the right), and heads north with the Pathfinder Tours 1Z34 05:40 Swindon to Carlisle 'Cumbrian Mountain Express' railtour on 28 March 1998. Note the Mount Zion Chapel, a tiny wayside church that opened in 1876, the same year as the railway.
