A very unusual working took place on 29 July 2026, after 66507 failed at Banbury whilst working the 4O99 10:48 Leeds to Southampton Maritime freightliner. The train was rescued by 68019, which just happened to be in the area, running as the 0O86 15:03 Wembley to Eastleigh light engine. The sight of a Chiltern Railways loco helping out Freightliner was not to be missed, but unfortunately I was in a location where only a going away shot was possible. The unusual ensemble is pictured at Culham, moving very slowly away from an unscheduled stop, running over two hours late. Apparently the problem with 66507 was failed cab air-con.
