85026 passes Basford Hall Junction on 3 July 1985 with an unidentified southbound working. Due to the Crewe station remodelling, all trains were being diverted over the avoiding lines. The train is just rejoining the mainline, after bypassing the station. At this time the Class 85s were nearing the end of their working lives, and a failure whilst hauling a parcels train in May 1990 was enough to see 85026 withdrawn. It was cut up three years later.
