D5541 undergoes a traction motor change at Toddington on 10 June 1995. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway only had just over a year's use out of D5541, as a major electrical failure later in 1995 saw it sidelined. After a long period out of use it was sold to A1A Locomotives Ltd as a source of spares.
