43008 leaves Wareham on 26 September 2023 with the Branch Line Society / CrossCountry 1Z44 16:18 Swanage to Leeds 'Pines Express' railtour. 43007 is bringing up the rear. The headboard reads: 'CrossCountry High Speed Train Farewell'. There was an eleven minute stop in the station, and of course most passengers took the opportunity to get pictures, but even now everyone is back on board, the station is still packed, giving an indication of just what a historic occasion this was.
