LM389 Douglas 31 March 2026

Former Bord na Móna 0-4-0 diesel hydraulic locomotive LM389 stands in the siding at Douglas station on 31 March 2026. LM389, along with classmate LM396, were acquired by the Isle of Man Railway when they were made redundant in Ireland because of the ending of peat production. Although a lot of the Isle of Man is sparsely populated moorland, here in Douglas every inch of space is used. Note how the buildings on Peel Road are built on steel stilts, making use of the steep bank behind the railway's brick building.
